The Consulate in Merida is open for walk-in services Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Beginning January 2, 2009, certain services will be available by appointment only. 

Please click here for more information about the appointment system.  The Consulate is open all regular working days except for American and Mexican holidays.

Important Scheduling Information

Beginning in January 2008, the American Citizen Services Unit will be closed for routine services on the second and fourth Wednesdays of every month. 

This schedule applies only to routine, non-emergency services.  An American citizen who is in need of emergency services may still come to the Consulate during normal working hours and will be admitted.

Consular Agency Playa del Carmen

The US Consular Agency in Playa del Carmen is open for walk-in business Monday thru Thursday, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm except for American and Mexican holidays. Please make an appointment by calling the office phone during normal office hours or send an email to: playausca@gmail.com containing information about the service you require, your contact information and a preferred time for your appointment within normal office hours.  Emergency cases are accepted as walk-ins but in general we request you make an appointment for routine services.
